Siouxland Propane first opened its Ireton doors in 1953 with Bud Vreeman as founder. Back in those days it was only bottle propane in mobile cylinders. The business progressed to include bulk delivery and larger stationary propane tanks. As the business grew so did the products offered. Now with 3 locations including Akron, IA and Centerville SD, Siouxland could serve a much larger area. With slow summers with propane sales only, Siouxland decided to take on appliances, heating/AC, and lawn and garden products. With his sons coming of age it was time to pass the the torch on to Scott and Greg. With ever expanding lawn and garden products, the surrounding community came to depend on Siouxland to offer premium new product solutions and keep their equipment in tip top shape. Progressing to December of 2012, both Scott and Greg selling the propane division and keeping just lawn and garden product lines. Without the propane division, a name change was in order and they renamed the business to Siouxland Outdoor Power. Nearing retirement the Vreeman family once again decided it was time to pass the reins to a younger generation. But with no kin willing to take on the business they offered to sell to Brandon and Daren DeBoom. Both of which were already 15+ year employees at Siouxland and knew the customers and products inside and out. Brandon and Daren finalized the purchase of Siouxland in January of 2019. With new ownership Siouxland continues to offer top notch product sales and service to the Siouxland community and beyond. We look forward to many more years of serving this great community!
